It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Betty Wallace of Houma, Louisiana, born in Oscar, Louisiana, who passed away on December 1, 2023, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Gilbert Nelson and Ezar Elizabeth DeJean; her husband Ezekiel Melvin Wallace, Jr. of Houma, LA.; and her siblings, Frank, Helen, Gilbertlene, Lelia, Polly, Ida, Corrine and Gilbert Nelson, Jr..

She is survived by: her children, Bruce Rene Wallace (Marion Wallace), Ezekie Melvin Wallace, III and Candice Eileen Wallace Diggs (Robert Diggs); and her grandchildren, Irma, Christina, Chere', Chanel and Ca'Leah. She is also survived by five grandchildren, one great grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Her father donated land to this Boarding School to ensure their enrollment.
