She was predeceased by: her husband Kenneth J. Melancon; her stepson John Melancon; her parents, Charles A. Duet, Sr. and Aimee Waguespack Duet; her brothers, Charles Duet, Jr. and David Duet; and her siblings-in-law, Don Banowetz, Sr., Phil Melancon and Virginia Duet.
She is survived by: her daughters, Sharon Theriot (Walt), Lynn Bonvillain Hunter (Jerry) and Beth Rowland (Todd); her stepdaughters, Hope Scott (Terry) and Melissa Bascle (Matt); her grandchildren, Dr. Sarah Beth Mehl (Steven), Kathryn Maus (J. B.), Dr. Annelise Bonvillain, Madison Rowland, Evan Rowland and Caroline Rowland; her stepgrandchildren, Ashleigh Scott, Darren Scott, Connor Bascle and Nicholas Bascle (McKensie); her great grandchildren, Gabriel Bonvillain, Mary Kathryn Mehl and Jack Maus; her stepgreat-grandchild River Bascle; her sisters, Anna Mae Banowetz and Iris Bergeron (Ken); her sisters-in-law, Ellen Duet, Emilie Daye (Jere), Betty Bennett (George) and Catherine Melancon; and her nieces and nephews, Donny, Jamey Banowetz, Kay, Marty Kilburg, Susan, Jerome Snyder, Linda, Lance Hemphill, Sandra, Ken Filardo, Mona, Joe Roberts, Jason Bergeron, Robert Levenstein, Amy, Jim Shorter, Cindy, David, Kim Duet and Paul LaRose.
Viewing was held on Tuesday, December 24th 2024 from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM at the Maria Immaculata Catholic Church (246 Corporate Dr, Houma, LA 70360). A Mass was held on Tuesday, December 24th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Tuesday, December 24th 2024 from 11:20 AM to 11:50 AM at the St. Bridget Cemetery. A burial was held on Tuesday, December 24th 2024 at 11:50 AM at the same location.
