She was predeceased by: her husband Tillman "Tim" Gillaspie; her parents, T. N. Anderson and Ethel Hanstrom Anderson; her grandsons, Patrick James and Justin James; and her brothers, John and Charlie Anderson.

She is survived by: her son William "Dod" James of Houma; her grandchildren, Dustin James, Brandi Crittenden, Jewel Galindo and Danielle James; and her great grandchildren, Kaitlynn, Morgan, Farrah, Sidnee, Sullyn and Nadia.
