It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Alta Celestin of Houma, Louisiana, born in Montegut, Louisiana, who passed away on September 12, 2021, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Paul Celestin, Sr.; her parents, Sylvester Warren, Sr. and Rose Del Warren; and her grandparents, Octave Lagarde, Lucinda Mason, Spurgen Warren and Rebecca Smith Warren.
She is survived by: her children, Debra Townsend, Sharon Singleton (Jerome Singleton, Sr.), Paul Celestin, Jr. (Rachel) of Houma, LA, Dereck Celestin of Houma, LA, Jerroid Celestin (Juluana) of Houma, LA and Jerome Celestin of Dallas, TX; her siblings, Wilma Lee Williams (Charles) of Houma, LA, Mary George (Raymond) of Houma, LA, Iona Fleming of Houma, LA, Gwendolyn Harris of Houma, LA, Lisa Saucier (Donald) of Gulfport, MS, Rosary Lynn Turner (Bryan Sr.) of Prairieville, LA, Sylvester Warren (Terry) of Houma, LA and Elvis Warren of Katy, TX; and her brother-in-law Moses Celestin (Gertrude). She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be observed on Friday September 17, 2021 from 9:00 A. M. until funeral services at 11:00 A. M. at Jones Funeral Home, 1101 Main Street Franklin, LA. (All visitors are asked to adhere to the CDC/local regulations by wearing masks and practicing social distancing).
