He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Hughes, Jr. and Victorine Hughes Callahan; his stepfather Sylvest Callahan; his former wife Sandra Trahan Carter; his wife Sheila Ann Hughes; and his nieces, Tammy Hughes and Terri James.
He is survived by: his children, Lisa Jones (Derick), Tania Hughes and Allen Hughes, Jr.; his stepchildren, Richard Woodall (Mandy), Amanda Burson (Eb) and Jennifer Bledsoe; and his brothers, Edward Hughes III, Jack Hughes, David Hughes and Keith Callahan. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
