Ray L. Wilkins Obituary
We are sad to announce that on August 11, 2024, at the age of 84, Ray L. Wilkins of Homer, Louisiana passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Ed B. Wilkins and Clarice McLellan Wilkins; his wife Patricia Strahan Wilkins; his brother Donald Wilkins; and his grandfathers, Josh (Baleigh Wilkins), Shelby Wilkins, Ashlyn Wilkins, Ray Barnette, Jake Wilkins, Abigal Barnette and Gracelyn Barnette.
He is survived by: his children, Wendi Barnette (John) of Minden, LA, Len Wilkins (Tina) of Minden, LA and Gary Wilkins (Lora) of Katy, TX.; his great grandchild Luke Wilkins; his siblings-in-law, Prudy Wilkins, Gayle S. Gordon and Jerry Strahan; and his friend Homer High. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives.
In lieu of flowers honoring Mr. Wilkins, his family suggests memorials be made to First Baptist Church of Homer, LA, Claiborne Academy Foundation (Haynesville, LA), LSU Athletic Foundation (Baton Rouge, LA) or the charity of choice.
