It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James K. Hays of Homer, Louisiana, who passed away on January 17, 2025, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of James K. Hays to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his wife Susan Tatum Hays; his parents, William Taylor "Buddy" Hays and Mary Gladney Hays; his siblings, William Taylor Hays, Jr. (Billy), Patricia Hays Bryan McLeod and Frances Gladney Hays Bays; his nephews, Christopher Bryan and Charles Atkins; and his niece Carol Hays Bourn.
He is survived by: his sister Emma Jeanne Hays Atkins; his sister-in-law Joy Hays; his sons, Kimbell Hays (Nicci), Clayton Hays (Trudy) and David Hays; and his granddaughters, Tatum Hays, Claire Hays, Jewelyn Hays, Mary Katherine Hays and Sarabeth Hays. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Visitation was held on Sunday, January 19th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Rose Neath Funeral Homes - Homer (405 E 5th St, Homer, LA 71040). A funeral service was held on Monday, January 20th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Cornerstone Church (501 W 3rd St, Homer, LA 71040).
