It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Phillip Ray Hoover of Holden, Louisiana, born in Albany, Louisiana, who passed away on January 13, 2025, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Joyce Dynes Hoover; his parents, Ambrose Hoover and Druscilla Hoover; his brother Willie Hoover (Helen); his grandson Adam Hoover; and his brother-in-law Stacey Shannon.
He is survived by: his children, Darlene McMorris (Gary), David Hoover (Ginger), Danny Hoover (Janet), Dale Hoover and Darrel Hoover (Kelly); and his sister Merle Shannon. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 17th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Saturday, January 18th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Old Zion Hill Baptist Church (25890 LA-442, Independence, LA 70443).
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Old Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in honor of Mr. Phillip.
