He was predeceased by: his parents, Ira Rhodes and Sudie Rhodes; and his brother Keith Rhodes. He is survived by: his wife Judy McNutt Rhodes; his brother Johnny Rhodes; his children, Russel Rhodes Jr. (Kathy Egipciaco) and Sharon Rhodes Reno; his stepdaughter Marlene Beth Plumley; his grandchildren, Chelsea McCullin (Kane), Celine Rhodes, Keith Smith (Jessica), Kevin Smith (Emily), Kyle Smith (Janise), Andrew Jones (Samantha) and Daniel Jones (Makayla); and his great grandchildren, Elijah McCullin, Kamora Rhodes, John Riley Little, Milo and Elliot.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Laurel Hill Baptist Church (1796 Laurel Hill Rd, Leesville, LA 71466). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to organizations supporting Alzheimer's or Parkinson's research in Russel's memory.
