He was predeceased by: his wife Cynthia Bowman; his parents, John Bowman and Lola Mae Bowman; and his brothers, Clyde Bowman, Anderson "Dakkie" Bowman, Newman Bowman, Huey Bowman, John Bowman and Clint Bonnette.
He is survived by: his children, James Bowman, Jr. (Becky), Marie Bowman Rachal and Mitchell Bowman; his grandchildren, Ashley, Nicole, Wesley and Landon; and his sisters, Alberta Moreau, Geneva Laprairie and Irma Wisenbaker.
