He was predeceased by: his parents, Hosea, Sr. Deshotel and Verdie Mayeaux Deshotel; his siblings, Charles, Ralph, Eddie Sr., Gerald Deshotel and Rosa Lee Deshotel; his nephews, Joseph, James Deshotel and Kevin Gaspard; his niece Bonnie Gibbs; his siblings-in-law, Betty, Patsy Deshotel, Julia Michot Corsaro and Ray Michot Sr.; and his parents-in-law, Cilton and Anne Michot.
He is survived by: his wife Minnie Michot Deshotel; his grandchildren, Heaven, Cody, Hugh and Danielle; his son Hosea James Deshotel, III (Cynthia Guillot Deshotel); and his siblings, Lorraine Landry, Dianna Knoll, Connie Tate and Eugene Deshotel.
