He was predeceased by: his parents, Billy Lance and Martha Brunson Russell; his former wife Mary Nell Noles Russell; his close friend Don Austin; and his brothers-in-law, Richard Noles and John Davis Noles.
He is survived by: his wife Melinda Sanders Russell of Heflin; his sister Sharon Russell Morrow (Billy) of Heflin; his sister-in-law Judy Noles of Heflin; his nieces and nephews, Johnny Ray Rowland, Jr. (Sherri) of Dubberly, Jason Bryan Rowland (Marla) of Benton, Carrie April Russell Woodard (Jody) of Heflin, Cory Lance Russell and Mallorie Williams of Benton; his grandchildren, Morgan Rowland Hall (Gray) of Minden, Cade Woodard (Jaci) of Shreveport, Cody Woodard (Maddie) of Baton Rouge, Pearce Russell of Benton and Ava Russell of Benton; his great grandchildren, Remi McMinn, Stone Woodard, Garrison Hall and Allyn McMinn; his aunt Faye Brunson Harrison; his uncle Jack Harrison of Hall Summit; his stepchildren, Bryce, Brody Lafitte and Brianne Lafitte Ivy (Blake); and his pet Dixie. He is also survived by his 4 children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, numerous step grandchildren who loved Papaw dearly, numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
