He was predeceased by: his mother Juanita Maxine Shumaker Goodwin; his children, John "Little John" Goodwin and Shayleen "Shay" Goodwin; and his brother-in-law Mac Nolan. He is survived by: his daughter Alice Kay Goodwin Deese (James B. Deese) of West Monroe, Louisiana; his grandchildren, Destiny Kay, Aaliyah Jannise Goodwin of Johnathan and Michael Deese; his friend Tanya Deese (James W. Deese) of West Monroe; his siblings, Glenn Goodwin of Farmerville, Jerry Goodwin (Kayla) of Homer, Louisiana and Georgia Nolan of Bernice, Louisiana; his niece Lynell Taylor (Steve) of Homer, Louisiana; and his pet Bailey.
