He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Coy Callender, Sr. and Mary Louise Morgan Callender; his siblings, Charles Coy Callender, Jr. and Charlene Houser; and his grandson Alexander Colby Callender.
He is survived by: his wife Wanda Jane Sindle Callender; his sons, John Dayton Callender, Jr. (Jayna), Jeffery Lynn Callender (Avis) and Robert Virgil Callender; and his siblings, Cecille Callender Strange (Don), Joyce Callender Mc Calahan (Ricky), Loretta Callender Kelley (Michael) and Malcolm Callender (Sherry). He is also survived by four grandchildren and one great granddaughter, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
