He was predeceased by: his parents, James "Coach Jimmy" Tillman Austin, Sr. and Geraldine Cecilia Lyons Austin. He is survived by: his wife Pamela Flores Austin; his sons, Craig Tillman Austin of New Orleans and Christian James Austin of Jackson Hole; his stepsons, John Jason Ates (Kayne) of Lake Charles and Jacob Wesley Ates of Houston; his sister Arlene Austin Earhart (Robert Earhart) of Baton Rouge; and the mother of his children Susan Craig of Metairie, Louisiana..
