He was predeceased by: his parents, Loys Gilbert Yates and Susan Racheal Webb Yates; his wife Mary Frances Yates; his daughter Vicki Lynn; and his brother Webb Yates.

He is survived by: his daughters, Sheri Yates and Sharon Grubbs (Greg); and his granddaughters, Stephanie and Samantha Grubbs.
