He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Conrad Richter and Margaret Browning Richter; and his brother David Richter. He is survived by: his wife Diane Noles Richter; his daughters, Melanie Hooper (Kiley) and Megan Tisdale (David); his brothers, Kevin Richter (Pam) and Mark Richter (Mary); his son-in-law David; and his nephews, Justin Kemp, Eric Richter, Adam Richter, Brandon Richter and Connor Richter. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

The family requests that memorial donations be made to The Wounded Warrior Project in his name.
