He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Melancon and Evangeline Melancon; and his grandson Corey Owen. He is survived by: his wife Gwen Caldwell Melancon; and his siblings, Charles "Chuck" Melancon (Terri), Anita "Jinx" Toney (Steve) and Macrina Lovelace. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
