She was predeceased by: her husband Ray Albert Bess; her son Darrell Keith Bess; her sister Barbara Lawson Dalton; and her parents, H. W. Lawson and Josie Neal Lawson.
She is survived by: her daughters, Denise Bess Allen (Terry Allen), Diana Bess Drain (John Drain) and Delora Bess; her grandchildren, Adam Bess (Lauren Bess), Damien Bess, Zariah Bess, Brian Evans, Devin Rachels (Jason Rachels), Catherine Stelter, Christopher Stelter (Jenny Stelter), Kenneth Stelter and Derek White (Jennifer White); and her pets, Catfish and Rebel.
