He was predeceased by: his parents, John J. Shelley and Mattie Shelley; his son Don Eric "Rick" Shelley; and his siblings, Neva McDowell, J. B. Shelley and Charlie Shelley.
He is survived by: his pet Pete; and his children, Jack Randy Shelley (Jo) of Dixie Inn and Rebecca Shelley of Doyline. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, and one great great granddaughter.
