He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Hadwin Sanders; his son Steve Sanders; his granddaughter Jaime Sanders; his parents, Samuel Goode and Onie Almond Sanders; and his siblings, Pete, David, Estelle, Lorene and Lucille.

He is survived by: his children, Jan Wallace (Sam) and Kenny Sanders (Ruth); his daughter-in-law Patsy Sanders; and his grandchildren, Rebekah Davidson (Richard), Travis Sanders, Sara Kiser (Kevin), Jeff Sanders (Leslie) and David Baker. He is also survived by numerous great grandchildren.
