She was predeceased by: her parents, Marion Cecile Cognevich Holmes and Eugene Orville Holmes; her sister Susan Ann Holmes Hudgens; her parents-in-law, Mildred Christine Blantant Benson and Paul Alfred Benson; and her siblings-in-law, Morris Wayne Benson, Peggy Ann Benson Foster and John Foster.

She is survived by: her husband Jimmie Alfred Benson of Bossier City, LA; her children, Janelle Marie Benson, Shelly Rene Benson of Bossier City, LA and Brian Neal Benson of Bossier City, LA; her stepson Billy Benson of Bossier City, LA.; her grandson Benjamin Jude Thibodeaux of Lafayette, LA; her pet Maggie Mae; her siblings, Lynn Joseph Holmes (Sherri) of Bossier City, LA, Janice Mae Hudman (Jimmy) of Magnolia, AR and Mary Jean Kirkland (Billy) of Seguin, TX; and her siblings-in-law, Kay, Walter Ray Fitzgerald of Blanchard, LA, Gayle Benson of Shongaloo, LA and Linda Johnson of Haughton, LA. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
