He was predeceased by: his son Roderick Smith; his parents, Dan, Sr. Smith and Georgianna Smith; and his siblings, Rosie Bee Wyatt, Hannah Mae Bolds, Dan, Jr., Lazarus, George, Walter, Wilbert, Shirley, Roosevelt and Lillian Smith.
He is survived by: his spouse Terry Lewis Smith; and his children, Willie Smith, Jr., Keyokke Smith-Burns, Dr. Joy Smith-Durant, Yashica Hill and Tory Scott. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM at the St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church (1738 L B Landry Ave, New Orleans, LA 70114). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the same location. FACE MASKS ARE RECOMMENDED.
