He was predeceased by: his husband Willie Mae Ambrose; his granddaughter Nina Renee Ambrose; his parents, Archie Johnson-Wilson and Ora Lee Johnson-Wilson; and his brother Ellis Wilson Sr..

He is survived by: his children, Gidget Michele Mitchell, Bridget Chantele Ambrose, Martha Renee Knorr, Rachel-Beverly Wilson and Frank Anthony Ambrose; his former husbands, Dwayne Wilson and Don Wilson; his grandchildren, Kevin Oscar Emfinger, Jr., Tiffany Yvonne Marigny, Toya Chantele Ricks, Dwayne Wilson Jr., Amanda Nicole Higgins, Janee Jasmine Knorr, Shara Wilson, Danielle Wilson and Lynnae Corrine Wilson; and his siblings, Helen Spears, Clinton Wilson and Carolyn Wilson. He is also survived by great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.
