He was predeceased by: his son William "Bill" J. Downey III; his parents, Lena Tripolino Downey and William J. Downey, Sr.; and his sister Marianne Downey Groppi. He is survived by: his spouse Gay Hebert Downey; his children, Donald M. Downey (Gale), Gay Lynn Willis (Mark) and Lee Ann Downey; his grandchildren, Shane Downey (Debbie) and Beau Downey (Danielle); and his great grandchildren, Charlotte Downey and Alex Downey.
