She was predeceased by: her mother Thelma James Merrell; her stepparent Esco Merrell; her sister Lucille James Kennedy; and also Iristean Hart. She is survived by: her children, Danielle Latrice Williams (Percy III) and Alvin Leon James, Sr. (Sherika); her grandchildren, Tyrone Williams, Jr., Alicia Ishman, Alvin James, Jr., DeMarcus Dalvin James and Deann James; her great grandchild Tavier Williams; her brothers, John James, Sr., Ben Wallace, Lionel Wallace and Richard Patterson; and her aunts and uncles, Vianne Patterson, Lillean Brown and Ada Mae Patterson. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
