It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Michael McKnight of Harvey, Louisiana, who passed away on October 16, 2021, at the age of 68, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, John Henry McKnight and Mildred Smith-Ridgley; his brother Robert Kidd; his sister-in-law Carolyn Kidd; and his sister Mary McKnight.
He is survived by: his wife Gwendolyn Encalade-McKnight; his children, Michael J. McKnight and Mekia J. McKnight; his siblings, Alethia Lee of New Orleans and Milton Ridgley of Atlanta, Georgia; his siblings-in-law, Feltus Lee, Irvin Handy, Reginald Darensburg, Gerald J. Brown, Jennell Handy, Carnell Darensburg and Marvinell Brown; and his godchildren, Henry Tanner, Jr., Nigel Young and Dana McDonald-Warner. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and close friends.
