She was predeceased by: her parents, Richard Henry and Rebecca Chislom-Henry; her spouse Jules A. Paynes Sr.; her child Darleen Green; and her siblings, Lester Washington, Alice Smith, Martha Stewart, Ruthie Mae Sullivan, Ora Lee Pierre, Ivy Lee Henry, Moses Henry, Richard Henry and Andrew Henry.
She is survived by: her children, Jean James (Monroe) of Texas, Alma Harris of New Orleans, Carol Williams of New Orleans, Paulette Gray of New Orleans, Rebecca Hammond of New Orleans, William Paynes of New Orleans, Tyron Paynes of New Orleans, Ivory Joe Paynes of New Orleans, Rhinell Paynes, Jules A. Paynes Jr., Shelia Gilmore, Burnell Paynes and Richard Henry Paynes; and her granddaughter Cassandra Couto (Freeman). She is also survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends.
