He was predeceased by: his parents, Machiel Edward Birkhoff and Ida Klees Aguilera; his stepfather Gabriel Aguilera; his son George Edward Birkhoff Jr.; and his brother Gary Birkhoff.
He is survived by: his spouse Jewell Williams Birkhoff; his children, Victoria Leeper Dupont (Charles Hogan), Gerald Eugene Leeper and Machiel Edward Birkhoff; and his siblings, Johnny, Bernard, Jan, James, Rudy Birkhoff and Maria Aguilera. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, sisters and brothers in law, cousins, other relatives and devoted friends.
Due to COVID – 19, everyone in attendance MUST wear a face mask or other proper facial covering and practice social distancing.
