He was predeceased by: his parents, Estelle Fuchs Vinet and William C. Vinet Sr.; his wife Gwendolyn Gonzales Vinet; his daughter Yvonne Vinet Cheramie (Kurt); and his siblings, Mary William-Helena Vinet of William Charles, Vinet Jr., Winifred "Winnie" Bernadine Vinet Marcell, Francis Xavier "Val" Vinet of John Bernard, Mary Marcelline Vinet Waltke and Laurence Dudley "LD" Vinet.
He is survived by: his daughters, Evelyn Vinet Calongne (Edward) and Yvette Vinet Williams (Andrew); his grandchildren, Cory Cheramie (Mary), Andrew Williams (Sadie), Anthony Williams and Jenna Cheramie; his great grandchildren, Bowen Cheramie, Saylor Cheramie and Weston Cheramie; and his close friend Dawn Ann Chapman. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and wonderful lifelong friends.
Visitation was held on Monday, December 16th 2024 from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM at the Harvey - Mothe Funeral Homes (2100 Westbank Expy, Harvey, LA 70058). A Mass was held on Monday, December 16th 2024 at 1:30 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, December 16th 2024 at the St Vincent de Paul Cemetery No 1 (1950 Soniat St, New Orleans, LA 70115).
