He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Toussaint Dennis; his children, Sylvania Perry (Rodney), Veronica Nelson (Rickey), Bernadette Oakley (Jerome), Delores Thierry (Joseph), John Dennis, Sr., James Dennis, Sr., Austin Dennis, Jr., Rose Ryles, Dianne C. Brown, Paula A. Castro, Flora C. Morris (Clifford), Velma C. Anderson (Donald, Sr.), Delia C. Holmes, Rev Kim C. Castro, Sr. (Troylynn), Ezekiel Toussaint, Derrick Toussaint (Alexis), Treenice Williams (Clifford), Carolyn Junius (Charles), Rev. Johnny Byrd (Oshele), Danijah and Jamal Dennis; and his sisters, Sarah Dennis and Elsie Dennis Thomas.
The lying in state was held on Sunday, March 16th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the New Zion Baptist Church (1131 Garden Rd, Marrero, LA 70072). Viewing was held on Monday, March 17th 2025 from 8:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the Ages Baptist Church (6533 Acre Rd, Marrero, LA 70072). A celebration of life was held on Monday, March 17th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. FACE MASKS ARE RECOMMENDED.
