It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shirley Braud of Harahan, Louisiana, born in New Orleans, Louisiana, who passed away on February 27, 2023, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Richard A. Braud, Sr.; her parents, Peter Ferrara and Gladys Ferrara; and her sisters, Mary Ann Baggett, Catherine Rose Ferrara and Elouise Soto.
She is survived by: her children, Richard A. Braud, Jr., Michael D. Braud, Sandra "Dee Dee" Braud and Jesse P. Braud; her grandchildren, Liam, Nicole and Shaun Braud; and her friends, Kendra, Megan, Rose and Cathy. She is also survived by her nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorial contributions to NAMI New Orleans or a Mental Health charity.
