He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Kelley and Thelma Fontenot Greenwald; and his great-aunts, Bessie H. Brookerson and Thelma Healey Johnson. He is survived by: his wife Gwendolyn Tranchina Kelley; and his stepchildren, Daphne Gelpi (Robley), Stefanie Wiedemann (late Karl), Gina Marciante, Jerome Joseph Marciante, III (Candice) and Nicholas Marciante. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
