He is survived by: his wife Hilda Schneider; his children, Guy W. Smith, Sr. (Celeste), Stephanie Smith McGovern (Kenneth) and Daniel P. Smith; his grandchildren, Joshua Smith (Melissa), Guy Smith, Jr., Jessica Smith (Paige), Darryl McGovern, Brandi Smith Cooper (Jessie) and Erin McGovern; his great grandchildren, Jarret Cooper, Zoey Smith and Carlee Cooper; and his stepgreat-grandchildren, Ryland Nobles, Brayden Nobles and Alison Nobles.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, December 3rd 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home (5100 Pontchartrain Blvd, New Orleans, LA 70124). A funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, December 3rd 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
