He was predeceased by: his son Scott Benoit; his granddaughter Anna Grace; his parents, Hector Allen Benoit, Sr. and Mariette Gaubert; and his brothers, Roger Benoit and Roland Benoit.

He is survived by: his wife Margie Melancon Benoit; his children, Eddie Benoit, Jr., Keith Benoit, Joy Mouledous (Scott), Stephen Benoit (Maria), Gay Garafola (Pete) and Chris Benoit (Jennifer); his grandchildren, Angelle, Kati, Keith Jr., Scott Jr., Paul, Stephanie, Danny, Ryan, Amy, Catherine, Matthew, Adam, Madison, Amanda and Mallory; and his siblings, Shirley B. LeBlanc, Joyce Benoit and Hector Benoit, Jr.. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to St. Rita Catholic Church.
