He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Joseph, Lela Bankston Calmes, George and Rosa Schiro Milone; his parents, William Arthur Graves Calmes Sr. and Austin; his son Paul David Byers; his grandson Andrew Forrester; his brother Hoagy Michael Brown; and his siblings-in-law, Dominick Tortorich and Toni Brown.

He is survived by: his wife Dorothy "Dottie" Victoria Jackson Calmes; his sons, Keith (Carmen Calmes), Brian (Kathy Calmes), Mark Byers and John (Julie Byers); and also, Rose, Dave Forrester, Donna, Paul Driver, Colleen Crain and Karen Mooney. He is also survived by fifteen grandchildren and their spouses, and twelve great-grandchildren; fourteen brothers and sisters and their spouses.

Reverend David Buss will be conducting the service. Interment will follow at Rose Memorial Park Cemetery, Hammond, Louisiana. Face masks are now mandatory to attend any visitation or service at the funeral home.
