He was predeceased by: his wife Micky Freeman; his parents, Thomas Freeman and Edna Freeman; and his siblings, Marjorie Freeman Manning and Robert L. "Bobby" Freeman.

He is survived by: his sister Carolyn Jones; and his stepson Dean Hicks (Kirk Bjork). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
