It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sandra Marie Bates in Hammond, Louisiana, born in Independence, Louisiana, who passed away on September 8, 2021, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Viola Trosclair Bowman Berner and Albert "Ted" Bowman; and her brother Albert "Ted" Bowman. She is survived by: her husband Charles Bates; her children, Carla B. Drury (Steve), William "Billy" Bates, Dawn B. Graves (Mike) and Charles J. "Chucky" Bates (Mara); her grandchildren, Heather Perrin, Kacie Burkhalter, Tyler Bates, Colin Bates, Reagan Miller, Jenna Graves and Kristen Graves; and her sister Rita Wall. She is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
