He is survived by: his wife Christine Matherne Newman; his children, Krista LaBorde (Jareth) and Michael Coates; his stepchildren, Travis Melford (Sandra) and Jessica Tabor (Jason); and his stepgranddaughter Shelby Melford. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
