He was predeceased by: his son David Brooks; his parents, James Woodrow and Josephine Alfonso Brooks; his brother James Brooks; and his aunt Lillie Alfonso.
He is survived by: his son Michael Brooks (Tammy); his daughter-in-law Melissa Bush; his grandchildren, Ashley, Joey, Dustin, Jake, Blake, Brennen and Codie Corkern; his great grandchildren, Adyson, Kade Simoneaux, Blaire, Kylie Daigle, Natalie, Clay Brooks, Luke, Andie Brooks, Kylee, Bowen and Preslee Brooks; and his sister Gloria Brooks Barrios. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
