He was predeceased by: his child Kandee Leavell; his parents, Albert Fischer and Wilda Fischer; and his siblings, Cheryl Baker and Jerry Fischer.

He is survived by: his wife Oleta Fisher; his children, Kim Edwards, Richard Land, Devonna Leavell, David Devon Leavell and William Lee Leavell; his great grandchild Brenda Baker Lette; and his nephews, Craig Fischer and Scott Baker. He is also survived by seven grandchildren.
