Phillip Joseph Tallia Obituary
Phillip J. Tallia, age 70, peacefully passed away surrounded by his family at North Oaks Medical Center in Hammond, Louisiana on Monday, May 6, 2024. He was born on September 22, 1953, in Independence, Louisiana to the late Ruby and Johnny Tallia. Phillip was a handyman who remodeled homes with his beautiful carpentry skills. He was a muscle car enthusiast, who was the proud owner of an early 70s model Chevy Nova. When he wasn't busy working on a project, he was often found watching his westerns or Duck Dynasty. Phillip was known to be hard-headed and stubborn, but was a push over when it came to his grandchildren. He was always happy and willing to take his grandkids for a ride on his lawnmower, share stories of his childhood and how he loved his moms spaghetti. Phillip was a wonderful father, brother, grandfather, and friend who is already deeply missed.
He leaves behind his children, Chad Tallia and Rochelle Tallia; grandchildren, Cole Tallia, Brent Smith, Layla Tallia, Abbie Deliberto, and Cameron Tallia; great-granddaughter, Hadlee Tallia; honorary grandsons, Benjamin "BJ" and Jaiden "JJ"; sister, Barbara Stafford; as well as his sister-in-law, Charlotte Tallia.
Preceding him in death were his companion for many years, Genell Redmond; ex-wife and mother of his children, Phyllis Templet; brothers, Johnny "Butch" Tallia and Frank Tallia; brother-in-law, Daley "DC" Stafford; along with his parents.
