It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Pamela Vonna Canik of Hammond, Louisiana, born in Batesville, Arkansas, who passed away on August 23, 2023, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, James Vaughn Gaston of Franklin, AR and Mona Phillips Coker of Day, AR; her stepmother Willene Gatson; her stepbrother Steve Heston; and her parents-in-law, Ferdinand and Claire Canik.
She is survived by: her husband Paul Canik; her children, Kim Lopez (Richard), Krista Verser, Jason Canik (Meghan), Jennifer Green (Randy) and Zachary Canik (Kayla); her grandchildren, Justin Verser, Parker Jank, Sadie Short, Taylor Vera, Kaleb Alvarado, Amelia Canik, Gracie, Natalie, Shelby Green, Jackson, Savannah, Hudson Canik and Baker; her sister Pat Billingsley (Steve); her cousins, Dean, Marilyn Batterton, Kohn Batterton and Tammy Ketchum; and her stepbrother Jimmy Hall. She is also survived by 7 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations please be made to "Go Red For Women" or "St. Jude Children's Research Hospital".
