He is survived by: his child Leslie McCarty (Gail); his grandchildren, Bolden (Isaac), Hubert McCarty (Kathy) and Albert McCarty (Sharon); and his siblings, Annie Laura Thorton, Rubie, Minnie, Johnniemae, Hurbert, John and George. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
