She was predeceased by: her husband Clement John Hess; her parents, Charles Howard and Margery Howard; her granddaughter Lindsey; and her siblings, John "Bud" Howard and Janet Raschiella.
She is survived by: her children, Janna Rode, James Hess (Mary), Suzanne Howe (Bob), Matthew Hess (Patti), John Hess (Linda) and William Hess; her sister Doris Wasson; her grandchildren, Erin Rode-Fiorello (Jesse), Megan Rode, Jimmy Hess, Matthew Hess (Zhaoxia), Christopher Hess, Rebecca (Benjamin), Samantha Sawyer (Robert), Sara Hess, Ryan Hess, Andrea Hess and Maggie Hess; and her great grandchildren, Sawyer, Parker Fiorello, Ethan Hess, Cecelia, Luke and Isaac. She is also survived by mother raising six children with her husband.
