She was predeceased by: her parents, Ernest Harris and Edna Owens; her son Charles Dwight Hillis IV; and her siblings, Sadie Mary Harris, Floyd Harris and Norman Harris.
She is survived by: her children, Mary Grace and Willard Hillis; her sister Ella Mae Core; her niece Melinda Germany; her grandson Joe Germany; her great grandchild Numerous; and also Avery Martin. She is also survived by Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
