It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Leon Leroy Powell of Hammond, Louisiana, born in Independence, Louisiana, who passed away on May 5, 2021, at the age of 62, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Bertie Prine and Leon Powell; and his sister Mary Tullos. He is survived by: his daughter Kristy McCray (Dwain); his grandchildren, Justin McCray, Shawn McCray and Victoria McCray; and his siblings, Nancy Wilkinson, Barbara Young, Melvin Powell and Evelyn Basso. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Interment will follow in Loranger Community Cemetery, Loranger, Louisiana. Face masks are now mandatory to attend any visitation or service at the funeral home.
