He is survived by: his siblings, Michael Abbate, Sr. (Catherine), Frank Abbate, Jr. (Bettie), Peter Abbate (Carol), Marguerite Weber (Milton), Ursin Abbate and Frances Abbate Fontenot; and his close friend Anna Thomas. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
