He was predeceased by: his former wife Patricia Simmons Peterson; his wife Judith Webb Peterson; his parents, John Thomas and Emma Lou Peterson; his siblings, Juanita Moore and Louis Wayne Peterson; and his son Dwain Peterson.
He is survived by: his children, Sherry Peterson Denig (Jeff) and John Peterson (Dawn); his grandchildren, John Ryan Denig, Garrett Peterson and Sydney Byrd (Ryan); and his great grandchildren, Maverick and Aniston Byrd.
