With heavy hearts, we announce the death of John M. Whann Jr. in Hammond, Louisiana, who passed away on April 6, 2021 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, John M. Monroe, Sr. and Margaret TamborellaWhann; his parents-in-law, Bessie Mae and David Compton, Sr.; his son-in-law Jesse Majesty, Sr.; and his sisters, Virginia, Alice, Rose and Kathryn.

He is survived by: his wife Betty Compton Whann; his children, John M. Whann, III (Sharon), Rebecca Majesty and Vickie Helg (Dennis, Sr.); his brother Robert Whann, Sr.; and his grandchildren, Tracy, Denny, Melissa, Jesse, Jr., Brandon, Christian and Heath. He is also survived by twelve great grandchildren.
